Fitter Fabrication Course

Course Description

Fitter Fabrication Course covers the training on performs fitting operations on metal elements using hand tools and operated by hand machines, to change the form of a part and/or generate elements from the material, perform basic gas cutting and welding as per given directions. Involves distinguishing metals, tools; finishing up fitting and fabrication operations such as marking out measurement, grinding, sawing, threading, drilling, scraping, taping, manual covering and inspecting of elements so as to fit an element as per the specifications. It also involves basic oxy-fuel gas cutting and basic manual arc welding as per given directions and underneath management.
Applicants should understand basic communication, numerical and procedure skills. Openness to learning, ability to arrange and organize own work and determine and solve issues within the course of labor. Understanding the requirement to must initiative and manages self and one’s work to enhance potency and effectiveness

Application National Occupational Standards (NOS) of Fitter Fabrication Course

1. Perform fitting operations on metal elements using hand tools and operated by hand machines
This OS unit covers fabrication and fitting of a metal product by using hand tools and/or operated by hand machines, to switch the form of an element or generate apart from the material, as per given directions.
2. Perform easy manual cutting operations on carbon steels using oxy-fuel gas
This OS unit is on competencies needed for easy manual cutting operations on carbon steels using oxy-fuel gas like oxy-acetylene. The person would be able to perform easy oxy-fuel cutting operations on carbon steels as per specific directions are given.
3. Manual low carbon and low alloy steels in easy welding positions using Metal Arc Welding
This OS unit is on activity Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW) welding conjointly referred to as Shielded Metal Arc welding (SMAW) for manufacturing many kinds of joints on low carbon and low alloy steels in 1G/1F and 2G/2F welding positions as per specific directions are given and underneath shut management.
4. Use basic health and safety practices at the work
This OS unit is on information and practices with reference to health, safety, and security that candidates ought to use within the work. It covers responsibilities towards self, others, assets and also the surroundings. It includes an understanding of risks and hazards within the work, together with common techniques to reduce risk, handle accidents, emergencies, etc. It covers the information of fireside safety, common aid applications, safe practices, and emergency procedures.
5. Work effectively with others
